Who is eligible to apply for FWCSC community grants? Community grants are available to schools, nonprofits, and organizations located within Pulaski County and surrounding counties that serve the Fort Leonard Wood region.
What kinds of projects do FWCSC community grants support? Grants support initiatives that enhance the quality of life in our region, including: - Educational programs; - Youth services; - Community enrichment; - Support for military families; - Local outreach initiatives;
When are applications due? All scholarship and grant applications must be submitted no later than March 15, 2026, by 11:59 PM CST. Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed.
When will decisions on grants and scholarship awards be announced? Scholarship and grant awards are typically announced in late spring, after all applications have been reviewed.
How much funding can my organization apply for? Grant amounts vary based on available funds and applicant need. Organizations may request an amount that best fits their project, though funding is not guaranteed.
Are grants limited to nonprofits? No. Schools, military-affiliated groups, and community organizations may apply, as long as they serve residents within Pulaski and surrounding counties.
Who is eligible to apply for FWCSC scholarships? Scholarships are open to the families of active duty, National Guard, Reserve, and retired service members, as well as Department of Defense civilians stationed at, assigned to, or living near Fort Leonard Wood.
What scholarship categories are available? FWCSC offers two scholarship categories: 1. High School Senior Scholarship – for graduating seniors. 2. Spouse/Dependent Continuing Education Scholarship – for spouses and dependents pursuing or continuing a degree or vocational program.
Are scholarships need-based or merit-based? FWCSC scholarships consider a combination of factors, which may include academic performance, community involvement, leadership, financial need, and personal goals.
Can previous scholarship recipients apply again? Yes! As long as they continue to meet eligibility requirements, past recipients may reapply.
Will FWCSC follow up with grant recipients? Yes. Grant recipients may be asked to provide follow-up reporting, photos, or documentation of project impact. These materials help FWCSC demonstrate community benefit to our members and donors.
Is homeschooling acceptable for the High School Senior category? Yes. Homeschooled students are eligible, but must provide appropriate academic documentation as outlined in the application.

FWCSC is proud to support Snack in a Pack, ensuring children in our community don’t go hungry over the weekends. Each month, our members volunteer their time to help pack meals that make a real difference for local families.
